I'm looking for a way to fly the DJI P4 Multispectral drone with terrain awareness (aka terrain following) enabled.  There doesn't seem to be a way to do that in the DJI GS Pro app, and the other apps that I use (map pilot, drone deploy, Pix4d Capture) aren't compatible with the DJI Multispectral.

Does anyone know if there's a way to do this?  I've found instructions for making it work with the Phantom 4 RTK, but not for Multispectral.  If not, then how does the multispectral account for how varying topography will impact the imagery?

We tried UgCS, had to change the camera parameters but it worked for the first set 150 or so multi camera shoots after a battery change. Then it goes inaccurate in the forward overlap shooting distance as in the image below:



No Idea what is going on there. We are currently communicating with UgCS to try and solve the issue.

It happens when you have chosen the terrain follow option. See if the triger is set to distance or time. Can you share with us a print screen of your UGCS photogrammetric trace settings? The one where we see the overlap, the speed, the resolution...

The speed is way too high for such a high resolution. The problem of non-repetition of images at regular intervals comes from the P4M which does not record fast enough.Try with 5cm/pix, overlap 70-60, speed 6m/s maximum. Also check camera settings :

2sThis should give you a workable level of quality:


If you need a very high resolution orthophoto you need a P4R or an M300+P1. Multispectral imagery does not necessary need such a high level of resolution.
Tip: In multispectral imaging, always choose the shortest trajectories in order to reduce the possibility of light variations between two photos. in this example, East/West , instead of North/South.
