One of the last thing I needed to try on my Mini2 was the Photo ratio in16:9 and 4:3.

I managed to get a quick flight in this evening and changed the ratio but  was surprised that it also affected the "live" view too.. And since I use Photo mode more than Video, this means that the majority of time that I am flying, the view is cropped to 4:3.

As a result, if i stick with the 4:3 mode, I will lose around 1/3 of my view when flying.

Is there a way to "zoom" the live view so that I can still fly in 16:9 but capture photos in 4:3?

Are you aware, that you wrote in the Air 2 section ?
And nope to your question. The question is, does it really make sence that you see more than you will get in the final picture ?
You can take the picture in 16:9 and crop it after.

Oops.. that was a mistake.. I will delete this and start again. There is something odd about this forum as it keeps doing this.

I don't know if its the same on the Air2, but on the Mini2, you can't crop 16:9 unless you loose a load of detail.. The whole point of this is that the sensor is 4:3 and when you take photos in 4:3 the resolution is 4000x3000.

But if you set it to 16:9, then the 4:3 image is cropped to 4000x2250.. So if you take a 16:9 and crop it to 4:3, you will end up with somethjing more like 3000x2250..

So you are better off taking photos in 4:3 getting the FULL resolution 4000x3000 and then crop as needed.

Even if you could zoom in the live view, you will loose the top and bottom of the 4:3 preview in the live view, so it does not make sense for me to zoom.
Anyway, the live view is ment to show everything you will finally get.
