When i go into the card to see the flight its always in two files
Is it normal for the flight file to be split instead of it being one large file?

Your video is larger then 4gb? This is the limit in FAT32 and Android < 11 version.

Maybe you can solve this problem by using SD card >32GB.

in one vid at 4k it split the feed into 2 aprox 2.73 files of 4+ min each

As stated the Fat32 files system has a limit of 4gb per file, ExFat will allow larger files. Check the specs to see if it is supported.

My files are always about 3.6GB or less. I thought it was normal to break the video in to "manageable" files sizes.
This is a rather common trait in many action cameras.

I have a few that don't but they aren't 4K ether. lol

Hello there SgtRay. Good day and thank you for the inquiry. The maximum capacity of a single file will not exceed 4GB. If exceeded, the recording will be stopped, and a new recording will be started. In addition, the maximum file size of FAT32 is 4GB. Hence, a file that is larger than or equal to 4GB will be divided, otherwise, the file may be lost or abnormal and cannot be read. Although exFAT allows a larger file size, the larger file may be damaged due to abnormal power-off and SD card removal, or even cannot be recovered. So the storage of the camera is 4GB regardless of the file systems. So it is normal the video will be split if it reaches 4GB. Thank you and fly safe always.
