Hello all.
lets plant some daffodils of opinion on the roundabout of chat at the end of Conversation Street.
So for those of us stuck with CE mode In the opinion of this pilot, its not great.
When I bought the drone I wanted to Sore through the valleys and cliffs as advertised with a possible 8KM range it sure was an exciting prospect.
INSTEAD,
What did I get?
FKN CE MODE!!!!!!!
1km Clear line of sight if im lucky and some VERY sketchy EVLOS Vally flying or mountain flying.
Now Im not actually going to start blaming DJI for the laws they are adhearing to in diffrent countries.
Australia is a terrible nanny country and always will be. (almost as bad as GB)
I also know there is (at this time of writing) An Android FCC hack from Drone hacks and an IOS Hack from some russian guys that will force the drone into FCC mode 700mw power.
Now thats very tempting. It means i could fly my vallys and mountains and not worry about transmission loss. Note: both these "hacks" require payment.
But i just paid over $2k for a drone that cant do what it was advertised to do.
I have just forced my drone into 2.4GHZ 20mhz mode and will test the result shortly, im hoping for more stable transmission as i have given up on any range advantage at this point.
SO, after all my ranting, what is it I actually want?
Im curious is all, so please someone answer me this if you will.
Why is DJI making it hard to force the drone into FCC mode? I understand why it cant just go and make it an option but why continue to develop ways to stop people from forcing FCC? Like the old goggles had a text file on a SD hack that was amazing. so far we are unable to do that hack on these goggles.
Is there some sort of aggreement that DJI will continue to make it hard to hack FCC to be able to sell the drones in other countries?
Happy Flying all.
Apollo.
