Just got a new Mini 2 and having problems with the Fly app.

After I have flown for 5–10 minutes taking pictures/videos, the app slows down and eventually freezes completely. At first just the FPV display gets choppy, then starts freezing up for many many seconds at a time, then finally locks up completely. While this happens I can't hardly even use my phone to switch apps — everything is freezing and the launcher gets all weird pixelly even! Eventually Android says the app is locked up and offers to force close and then things return to normal. Feels like it's running out of RAM perhaps? I do have a few GB of flash storage free so presumedly not that.

This has happened every time I've used the app! Starts fine and then after flying and photographing for a while the app dies like this and I have to bring the drone back blind. What's happening here? Does anyone else have this problem?

Hello there natevw. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused and thank you for reaching out. Can you please try using a different mobile device to see if the issue will still persist? Upon checking the said mobile device ( Moto x4 ) that your are trying to use on your DJI Mini 2 and with the DJI Fly application. I am sorry to say that the said mobile device is not recommended for the said drone and with the said application. We would suggest using a recommended mobile device for the DJI Mini 2 and with the DJI Fly application for compatibility and reliability purposes. There is a possibility that the Moto x4 will be able to work on the DJI Mini 2 and with the DJI Fly application. But however, since it's not yet optimized with the said drone and with the said application we cannot guaranteed if it will work all the time and if it will be able to run all the functions of the DJI Fly application while using it on the DJI Mini 2. I won't comment further on DJI blaming my phone for their app, but for anyone else finding this there does appear to be a workaround for this…

Suspecting a memory issue from the get-go I thought I had already turned off caching (the in-flight media download/copying thing) but there's actually *two* settings: one for video, but also a separate option for photos. Now that I've turned off **both** of those I haven't had further trouble with the app grinding itself (and my phone) to an awkward halt all the time.
