This ancient Standing Stone is a landmark appearing on Google Maps. But it is little known away from the immediate area, as it stands in a Bosquet (thicket), and cannot easily be seen from the road.  Recently, much of the foliage has been cleared, and the Menhir is more visible.

I judged it to be about 4m tall, and then there'll be a fair bit stuck in the ground too.

Nah! you're all wrong! It is a Troll! Look at the close up - see the face - it is actually wincing - one eye half closed, or maybe winking at the photographer.
