Brand New First flight today 03/31/2021 I seem to have a very SHORT max flight range while useing the Motion controller of about 1500 +/- with no obstructions I've used the stick controller and flew it from the same place with no issues at much greater distance Thoughts??? Motion Controller Model FC7BMC Weight 167 g Operating Frequency Range 2.400-2.4835 GHz; 5.725-5.850 GHz Max Transmission Distance (unobstructed, free of interference) 10 km (FCC), 6 km (CE/SRRC/MIC)

I have heard one guy said he got two miles easy on his, I have not taken it that far from me so I cant say.

I'm in the UK and with CE I'm getting around 1000m which is way beyond VLOS. I don't have any issues when flying through buildings etc even with metal covered structures the signal is pretty good.

Well I agree it is out of VLOS because of how small the unit is,

However it is no where near the distance you can fly with the standard controller

The specs say both controllers are rated to go 10km and I am not getting anything even close to that with this Motion Controller

Hopefully it is just a faulty controller and something DJI can fix quickly

Bums me out I prefer the Motion Controller for the type of flying I like to do

Do you think your range issue for the Motion Controller is unique for yours, or is this an issue that applies globally?  Mine also has issues with the MC Interference error which I cannot get rid of, despite trying to re-link.

Unknown that is why I posed the question to the masses.

I've not heard anyone saying the same thing so I am truly hoping for everyone sakes that it is just a me issue

The spec says 10KM but I can assure you it is no where near that distance

perhaps the location, try something entirely open and new? Fly at max altitude?

I just tested my Motion Controller max Distance as well.
I ALSO got around 1500 Feet as max distance.  
For some reason, the MC Interference error is now okay, and I haven't seen it recently.  I still couldn't successfully do a calibration without error though.

Can someone else test theirs to see if this is a bad batch of Motion Controllers, or if this is normal?  Thanks
EDIT:  Flight distance FIXED.
I didn't have to do this with my main stick controller, but my Motion Controller was defaulted to 1640ft max distance, and I just turned this off.


It flies much further now.   Hope this helps someone.

I don't like it and I'm actually returning it. I don't feel in complete control. In fact today it wouldn't land no matter how many times I pressed the lock button. It actually zipped right by my head all by itself. I had to power off the motion controller and power on the stock controller to land the aircraft. Doesn't seem safe to me.
