I am a total newbie and just purchased DJI Mini 2 (249G)   Was just testing in field behind garden and neighbour claiming I must register drone first and take a test but I thought I didnt have to do that with under 250g  I have booked basic training but was really just messing with drone to get a feel for it.  I know there must be certain rules and regulations but that seems to be a minefield as well
The neighbour is a qualified Model airplane user by the way


Just need some basic advice if possible

Yes you must register but the test is optional although its easy and a good learning experience.   The 250g is moot in the UK as it has a camera fitted and its not sold as a toy.  You must also label the drone.   https://register-drones.caa.co.uk
