I think, the switchable Low Speed mode is probably and theoretically possible on MP2, which is necessarry to fly in C2/A2 (UAS.030, after 01.01.2023). I am curious if DJI is making it available, since it must be only a firmware modification (AFIK).  And perhaps it will bring C2 classification as well (legacy would be fine).

The EU has said there wont be retrospective classification of drones,  but if supported by the manufacturer they have a process to return the drone to be modified and then classified.

It is,  150m from basically anything apart from empty fields.   I just bought the mini 2 to take advantage of the loop hole that it drops into,  without classification it can fly anywhere even over people,  but once its classified the rule changes from weight to MTOM so it will move up a category.

Clever solution, but..... a new drone, more cost. Mavic 2 Pro itself is a very capable instrument, and I didn't want to exchange. I'll take the  A2 exam (at the moment isn't possible because of the COVID situtation, at least in Hungary), and till 01.01.2023 I can fly  closer to the people (in low speed mode 5 m distance, in normal mode 30 m, without classification 50 m. After 01.01.2023 probably I will buy a C2 classified drone, and in A2 subcategory I can fly 30 m-s from people. which is suitable for me.
