Hey Guys, Does anyone know if all the Air2S have Airsense enabled in them. I hope it is not going to be like the Air2 where it was only avalable for USA. I dont see any videos talking about this.

Hi, Suren. Thanks for reaching out and posting your inquiry. AirSense (ADS-B) is available globally for the Mavic Air 2S.

I’m not sure it will, I think remote ID will come first, but many felt like they were conned first time around and I suppose they were. So at least it’s available and who knows it may be of some use to some and I’m sure it will be of interest to many to have it.

I see that it is working in the sense it allows me to toggle it on/off

Airsense for me shows most jets that are thousands of feet above me but not small planes and helicopters that are in my altitude area. Kind of mute.

I fly in class b airspace, there is a jet landing every few minutes.

For ADS-B to work the aircraft has to be transponding with a Mode-S transponder, and it has to be switched on!

Here in the uk the CAA mandated that all aircraft have to have Mode-S transponders fitted, but it is only mandatory to do so if its 'reasonably practicable' to install them.

The result is most light aircraft don't have them! They all continue to use Mode-C transponders that do not work with your ADS-B detecting drones.

I have a Mavic enterprise and have only ever seen one or two aircraft proximity warnings and they were no where near. Given that most aircraft will be above 500' after departure, its a rather pointless system for drones if they are flown within the 400' rule.

The biggest risk for me is helicopters as they can quiet often be below the 500' height rule, but you always hear them coming.

I live not far from an airport but yet to see a warning come up, Maybe the jets don't have the ADS-B out installed

Yeah we have St Johns helicopters that fly low quite often here by me, no warning but good thing they loud so I quickly drop altitude.
