I just updated dji fly to version 1.4.0 ans having issues with my Galaxy S21 Ultra, preview screen in the app is total black. The weird thing is that histogram works ok, if I shoot a photo it captures ok, but preview screen is black. If i install an older version everything works ok, the same if I use my iPhone. Any ideas?

What should the update be good for?

I'm using a Galaxy S21 Ultra (with a Snapdragon processor) and having no issues whatsoever with App V1.4.0.  Do you have a Exynos processor by chance?  If so that could be the problem.  Seems many times when DJI updates the Fly App that mobile devices with the Exynos processor have issues with black screens.  Hope you get it resolved.

BTW, most of the changes to V1.4.0 were to add the Air 2S but did change a few other minor items.

Yes I have Exynos...none of the other versions caused this problem. I installed 1.2.4 that I found available and everything works fine. I hope DJI fix this because they have S21 as a compatible phone

What items did it change for Mini? Should I upgrade from version 1.2.4 version 1.4.0

Obwohl ich eigentlich alles andere als scharf auf Updates bin, weil sich bei der Mini 1 eh nix tut, hab ichs jetzt doch mal installiert (hatte vorher 1.2.2). Der Zugriff auf die Kamereinstellungen sind jetzt unten und schneller erreichbar. Belichtung sperren (im Bildmodus) geht, natürlich nur bei Einstellung Auto. Einfach ins Bild tippen zur Auswahl der Belichtung und nochmal länger in den Kreis tippen zum sperren. Wieder lösen geht genauso. Gibts auch deutsche Videos dazu, in Youtube mit "Flyapp 1.4.0 deutsch" suchen.

A mi me pasó lo mismo, con mi  S 21 ( Pantalla negra). Podrías indicarme desde donde descargar la versión anterior?  Ahora no puedo volar mi Mini, y desde el soporte  DJI me contestaron que busque en Google!

V1.3 works fine.

The screen is black! samsuns s21 exynos cpu ... software dji fly 1.4 is not functional. not possible to go back to 1.3x apk because dji does not offer the download link for this version ...

It's very sad to have this issue with Samsung's flagship phone.....

I have the same problem on my S21. Now I installed an older app-version (1.3.) and the problem is solved

I am very new to this, but I have had constant problems trying to use the S21 with the kit controller for the Mavic 2 Pro for the last two weeks. Constantly losing connection Constantly not being able to connect to the drone. I ordered a SC last week and took it out this morning and it was like magic, zero problems at all connecting.

The whole process of mounting,  using and connecting the S21 to the drone makes it look like a bunch of amateurs designed the kit controller.

I have a S21 Ultra and since I updated to v 1.4, I am getting a black screen instead of the live stream

I am also having the same issue on my Galaxy S21 Ultra, Snapdragon 888, Android 11. I had no issues on my previous Note 10 Plus.

Same issue here with S21 Ultra (Exynos) and Mavic Mini. Will try to install 1.3.0 today.
Edit: I have just been in contact with support. Version 1.4.2 (where the problem is fixed) is supposed to come already end of April/beginning of May

Same issue S21 Ultra Snapdragon processor, Android 11 ... DOES NOT WORK!!!,  Unacceptable!! If I didn't have an iPad my drone would now be useless.  I should not have to backlevel my software to make it work.

Go Back to 1.3.0 of the DJI Fly App and wait for the 1.4.2 Update.

DowntownRDB,  I've been neglecting my  little Mini and yes I've ben playing with my favorite Air2 with 1.4.0. When I went to fly Mini I had a Black screen on my S21 Ultra. I 'd rather not start rolling back to fly my Mini. What happened to one software for all Mini, Mini2, Air2 and Air2s and FPV?

DJI never aired what the issue was but was able to fix it each time.  In reading through the forums it's quite evident that DJI prefers the use of Apple products over any Android OS product.  iOS users got the Fly App update before the Android version several times.  The DJI FPV Flight simulator was designed for iOS and still not available for Android.  

Same problem. I switched from Note 9 to S21U (Exynos) and screen remains black. App. ver 1.4.0. Drone by itself takes fotos.

Hey DowbtownRDB  I also have the snapdragon chipset, even though Samsung's  Exynos chipset is starting to out preform or equal the snapdragon,
Any way I have been strictly flying my Air2 with phone  with a couple Burps but no black screens and I come back over to fly  my mini. If I could just walk over pick up and go for a quick flight out back. both the s21Ultra and my Galaxy Tab s3 fly well with the Air2.
I may have to do a complete app/software reinstall, it is the ideal size.
