I had some really good luck during a recent flight in Utah!!!

That was the issue...I was in bypass mode so either the wires were too thin and didn't register or the angle I was approaching them didn't allow any reflection back to my MA2 to see them.

wow!!  amazingly lucky you are

OA does not see small branches, wires like this etc.
But OA is great for the stone wall you did not see yourself

The pole line was obvious, you should have realized that the wires would be there.  Fortunately for you, you lucked out and missed them.

Yeah, I was controlling the MA2 a half mile away from where the video starts.  This was a case of launching and climbing well above the wires and then flying into very gently rising terrain.  Also, it was very bright so my display was very dark and difficult to see the poles with my sunglasses on.  A number of lessons to be learned here.

I understand the hard to see the display issues.  I never use sunglasses when I am flying despite the fact that I almost always wear sunglasses when I'm outside.  Although part of that is because I do wear reading glasses when I fly.  The hazards of getting older (62 in two days)...

My glasses are the transition type than darken automatically when outside.  73 in two months.

I have worn hard contacts for about 40 years.  Had to add the reading glasses about five years ago.  I do have a pair of bifocals, but only wear then overnight when I take out the contacts.  Don't like wearing them much because they are very heavy and I lose my peripheral vision.

Big mistake. You should have said "I meant to do that" and we would have been very, very impressed ;-)

Speaking of sunglasses: The third time I flew my MA2, I started out wearing my usual driving/boating polarized sunglasses. Dang screen was blank and I reset the drone, tablet and controller twice before realizing it was just the glasses ! 73 now.

Oh my gosh, not quit the adrenaline we sometimes enjoy. But it makes us look down afterward Beautiful terrain colors like your other region videos.

Glad nothing bad happened, but man that made my butt pucker just watching that one, WOW that was close!!!

I got a charge out of watching that!
