The Mavic Air 2 firmware does not support Waypoint mode. Apps that offer you this feature are misleading you. You will get a Waypoint simulation invented by the developer and implemented with virtual sticks. The smoothness of flight for a real Waypoint and realized with the help of virtual sticks is completely different.

Yes. Air 2, Air 2s, Mini, Mini2. The firmware of these drones does not support Waypoints mode. Very sorry. Better to use older drone models that support Waypoints.
