If you ordered it from DJI or authorized dealer then it should be the "DJI" logo.  Anywhere else will have that generic quadcopter logo

You should put the foam block back in place too. Otherwise, the shock absorbers will be taking on a lot of weight depending on how the Phantom is positioned.

Bought from an authorised retailer... has the Quadcopter logo but the box it was delivered in had dji branding / info. Either way don't care... P3 fits perfectly and didnt have to wait an eternity for it.

You will not regret it.  Believe me I am always the "biggest, baddest, most high quality, high price" type of guy.  I heard arguments about why iPad Air is better and what not but I wanted something that would fit the controller, have a big screen, and still be light and portable.  That is the iPad Mini.  With that being said, obviously there is nothing wrong with a full size iPad but to me the Mini is perfect.  Either way you will not regret it.  I have never noticed any lag or choppiness on the iPad side.  Now once I have started to get out of range then I have but that is not the iPad's fault.  Also one thing I can say to you is if you want to save a bit of money and the Mini is going to be used solely for the FPV of the P3 then there is absolutely no reason to go any higher than an iPad 2 16gb.  If you have any questions feel free to ask.  I literally was in your boat about 2.5 weeks ago.

Thanks ya I am looking for the cheapest iPad mini 2. I'm even considering getting it refurbished. Do you need the cellular+wifi version? I want to get the wifi only version but the dji website says it supports the cellular+wifi it doesn't say anything about the plain wifi version. Which one do you use? Any thoughts? I am loving my phantom! Just wish I could afford more batteries.

thanks!

Michael M, both Wi-Fi only and cellular iPad models are compatible. Only cellular models have GPS though. If you get a cellular model, you do not have to activate the cell service in order to use the GPS. With GPS, you can do things like set the home point to your current location. It might come in handy for other features down the road too.

Good, that means my Nexus 7 II would fit nicely, it is 20 x 11 cm. The iPad mini is 20 x 13 cm.
But since I would have to remove the props it is probably a deal breaker.

The iPad Air 2 fits also by removing the upper foam from the shell. The foam has an impression for the larger format devices....
Take the foam out, place your device in the center and replace the foam....

What do you mean removing the props is a deal breaker?  You mean you don't want a case that requires you to remove the props from the Phantom?  I can tell you that if you want a case big enough to allow you to keep on the props it is going to be a much larger case for literally something that takes 10 seconds to do.  Does't seem worth it to me.  This hardshell backpack is the perfect size to go anywhere.  Any larger and you are going to start to have trouble squeezing it in places. (i.e. behind car seats, overhead compartments, etc...)

Yeah, the case would need to be about 7 cm (or 3") longer for the P3 to fit with the props on. Not a very big deal unless you are bringing the case onboard a flight.

The case is 45 cm long, and the P3 with props mounted is 49 cm.
(width and depth would not need to change)
