I want to clarify something from setting the home point to controller

I have a Mavic 2 Pro

if I set the home point to the controller. Will the drone land near the controller if I move around?

or does it just land in a spot where the controller was set when Setting the home point?

I want to use active track to make the drone follow me but I want the drone to land near me if it runs low on battery

1.        Home point is normally set automatically.
2.        To check this, see if the line at top of display is GREEN. That means that drone has a GPS signal.
3.        To check this, press the 3 dots at top left on screen.
4.        Then press the drone symbol at top left on the screen.
5.        Then press “HOME POINT SETTINGS” use left picture for point where drone started. Right picture is for where you are with the remote control.
6.        a display comes up saying: "SET CURRENT AURCRAFT AS HOME POINT"
7.        Then press “OK".
8.        A signal comes up saying “HOME POINT RECORDED.
Then check the altitude that you want for the home run.

NO, drone will land at point where the controller was at the time of resetting HP to the RC/Mobile device

YES

I want to use active track to make the drone follow me but I want the drone to land near me if it runs low on battery
During flight reset HP to your position ( or in front of you ....) every now and then....

Hi,

Thanks JJB for the explanation about home point with RC. I thought it would follow you.

There was before a dynamic home point settings…but it was on my Spark. Not sure DJI kept that for newer models.

Option has been removed :-) it was there in DJI Go4

It was a nice option when flying from a moving place like a boat or downhill bike, ski,…

I have never noticed that but I still use DJI go 4 app for my mavic 2 pro?

It was present "back in the days" in GO4. I used it when flying a Spark from a boat.

Maybe for a Spark but it's never been in DJI Go for Phantom 3 or DJI Go4 for Mavic 2 or Phantom 4 pro.
