Could do with a little help please. Whilst using the Fly App to edit cached videos (and others installed) on phone, the app was always in landscape mode. Now when I try to edit video clips the app opens in landscape then switches to portrait display for editing. How do I reset the display to landscape for editing. Happens on my other devices with Fly App installed as well.

Thank you for your reply Stephen. I purchased my Mini 2 in November 2020 and have flown quite a few flights. (97 flights /88km) I have edited quite a few of these without encountering any problems whatsoever but just recently, the issue of landscape/portrait display whilst editing has just arisen. After further investigation, I realise that the updating of the app has caused the issue.
I use 3 different mobile devices from time to time and these are:-
A Oneplus 7t phone with Fly app 1.4.0 (937) official. Landscape/Portrait issue evident.
A Huawei P20 lite phone with Fly app 1.4.0 (937) official. Landscape/Portrait issue evident.
A Media Pad T3 10 with Fly app 1.3.0 (928) official. No issue evident.
I can only gather from my findings therefore that the update to the app has caused my problem. It really is no big problem, I just wanted to know what caused it.
You don't have to remind me that my devices may not appear on the Dedicated recommended devices list. I have perused that list many times.
I just thought that others may have experienced this and found an easy setting to change to bring editing display back to Landscape mode.

This happens on iPhone 12 Pro Max too.

I take it that your tablet is on 1.4.0 then? As I said not a big problem just thought that there might be a quick setting to revert to landscape display editing.

I thought it was to mach how native video editing apps look,  for example iMovie it a portrait editor.

Sorry, just seen this now. There is no fix that I know of except to go back to a previous version which enables landscape editing. You could try 1.3.0

You would need to side load 1.3 fly app
Or you could use an auto rotate app, search your appropriate app store

If you do a search on here you will find a couple of threads which will show you how to revert back to various issues of the Fly App.
Try Dji Download center first maybe.

Same issue after installing new version from dji webpage.
Portrait video editing only! Why? Any news on resolving this?  Phone mi9t

As before, the only way to return to landscape editing on mobile devices that I know of is to downgrade to fly app version 1.3.0
I'm sure if you look at Dji download centre you will find all previous versions there.

Hello, I have the same problem as you have described…landscape mode…then the DJI editor switching to portrait mode. I had an iP. 10s and now have an iP 12 Pro. We’re you able to correct the problem please? Thanks

Hi Alf_Wally. Dji don't see it as a problem, therefore they are not going to change anything. The only way I guess is revert back to app version 1.3.0.

That’s horrible.  This is a major problem.  I love the app, but edit on an iPad.  It is such a pain constantly flipping from landscape to portrait !!!  Please consider fixing this.  I really would rather avoid side loading an old version.  Makes no sense.
