Nicely done. What formed these rocks? I noticed the holes in them, kinda like limestone rocks, that rain eroded?? Just asking. May sound like a stupid question, lol
Thanks DJIManiac.
This site is right beside the site featured in the green and gold clip that I posted. The valley bears evidence of glacier erosion so, not being a geologist, my guess is rhat it is mostly of a lime stone nature with with sandstone. Right next to this is the sea with sandy beaches.
The dimples are likely caused by rain and wind erosion.
From elsewhere on the web:
"The Cape Supergroup was formed about 700 – 600 Ma ago by a succession of sedimentation of sandstone (silt, mud and sand)."
Not a stupid question at all - thanks for asking. |
