This would be great ... but it is already available in the other map apps on my device so ... I don´t need DJI to include this in the pilot app.
There is already a lot of menus to keep track of ... let´s not make it harder on us old folks than it already is ...

Yes ... This is a good idea ...

Alot of functions should have this "hide feature" ... And also the possibility to stick your most used functions on the main screen (like adjust gimbal) ...

I think it would be good, just put it on the home screen, so as not clutter up the flying screen. Now If I could find a way to load maps without a wifi connection since I don't have a data plan on my mini 2.

This function is not on the DJI Pilot app yet.

You can cache the map prior going into the field.
(See General Settings -> Cache Map in the Background)

Plenty of mapping / gps app options out there already - no need to clutter up the flight app
How about they just concentrate on delivering the Nav, Automation and Waypoints they have been promising for, let's see - how many months???
New firmware version was pulled at the last minute (a month ago) and needed a re-write - Beta only just starting now and many 3rd Party devs all stuck themselves because of another issue between DJI and Apple with the SDK. (sound familiar?)

DJI's capability for software development and quality assurance is clearly limited. Even the founder recognised it as an issue (P3 wasn't perfect, so he didn't attend the product launch).

I have that option turned on. As long as I have a wifi connection I get maps. As soon as I turn off the wifi connection or go to the field where there is no wifi I then get no maps or sections of grey mixed with sections of maps.

I could use my iphone for a wifi hotspot, but I don't want to cause issues for people where an active wifi could interfere with there transmitter.

I tested this on Ipad Air (IOS) and Samsung Tab S (Android).
Both are working for me.

Paul,

If the cache doesn't work whilst on site, you just set up a hot spot on your phone, then cache the map whilst on site once its on  the iOS app just remove the connection and put iPad into Airplane mode.

Do you know if there is an app that has this tool? thanks in advance!
