I refer to mine as a flying camera or quadcopter - never a drone.  A friend of mine bought one shortly after he saw mine in action.  He has another friend at a RC flying club who says we can go there to fly around with them - why? I asked.  It's not that kind of hobby - it's an extension/addition to photography I explained.  We can't loop the loop or do barrel rolls, unless I missed something.

It is whatever you call it.

Ask 10 people, get 10 answers.  I think some think drone == flying machine with guns but technically, a drone (as defined in some dictionaries) is a UAV that can be flown autonomously or via remote control (hmm, sounds like a match).  A quadcopter is a helicopter with 4 rotors (hmm, another match).  Flying camera; I guess that can work though it depends on if you are focusing on the flying parts or the camera parts

multicopter is the type of aircraft and drone is the definition of an unmanned aircraft/vehicle with camera,  this is a pretty obvious question
