Thanks Depp. It does make one curious as to what lies further on, doesn't it. A bit too windy for the little Mini 1. Next time I'll take the heavier M2Zoom and fly to the Trig Point.

I've never visited that, though I've been to Scotland many times.  So far as I know, Hadrian never came here

Research Litchi. I've used it successfully for years. You can program a flight in the comfort of your computer space, then upload it to the App on your phone or tablet, to fly the drone round the mission whenever you wish.  You can even pre-plan the flight using GoogleEarth. There's a good tutorial on YT too.

From their website, here is their compatibility list :
Litchi is compatible with: Mavic Mini 1, Mavic 2 (Zoom/Pro), Mavic (Air/Pro), Phantom 4 (Standard/Advanced/Pro/ProV2), Phantom 3 (Standard/4K/Advanced/Professional), Inspire 1 (X3/Z3/Pro/RAW), Inspire 2 and Spark.
Doesn't look like they have the SDK for the MA2  - yet.

An update for you. This morning, at dawn, I went up into the hills to fly two experimental missions, pre-programmed waypoints using Litchi.  The first was with the Mavic2Zoom, and went like clockwork. Results on here in a day or two. The second was for the Mavic Mini 1.  I got the default message " Waypoints is not (yet!) a feature for the Mini1.  Rats!  But the YET seems to imply some future functionality in this respect.  I shall wait (more or less) patiently
