Before work can continue on the erosion control project to protect the  Montauk Point Lighthouse, the "Pill Box" had to be be lifted from where it  has sat for 45 years after. It dramatically tumbled from the cliff face above after being undermined by severe erosion.


The Pill Box was estimated to weigh as much as  100,000 Lbs. The equipment they brought in was absolutely mind blowing!!


As usual the Mavic Mini performed like a champ.  I unboxed a new one in prep for this shoot and kept the "old" one for standby.  After flying this unit I'm convinced there is a problem with the gimabl on the "old" MM.

Wow, amazing footage!   Well documented.  Mini did a superb job.

Nicely documented,  I didnt realise you had pill boxes in America.

Thanks DAFlys, so glad you liked it!!  We used to, in WWII... in fact, not far from here there are the exposed portions of HUGE underground gun emplacements that housed 13inch guns... they are mind boggling to see and I'd love to drone, but they are in a State park where drone flying is prohibited w/o authorization (which is a major pain in the a$$) so I have not been able to do that yet, but HOPE TO.

We have them everywhere round here but we have them because of the German bombing and invasion threat,  I didn’t know that the same threat existed for the US during the war.
