While in flight, my drone did a forced landing. I had 24% battery, and was on my way home. The drone stated it needed to do a forced landing. There is NO flight data recorded and my last gps location is 3 hours away.  This was all right after a firmware update. What went wrong?  Any ideas how to locate the drone?  Any suggestions? Am I SOL?  Thank you!

That would be very unlikely.
Are you sure you are looking in the right place?
Here are instructions for where to find the flight data files.

To get to your flight data, go to: https://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/Upload/
... where you'll find instructions to upload the data to that site and it will give a report
For help interpreting the data you can post a link for the report here, even if it looks empty.
Or just post the .txt file.

What says that?
I suggested you go into tour actual recorded flight data to see what txt files you can find there.

Also go into profile-settings- sync flight data and turn on "Auto sync flight records"

You need to look for the .txt flight record files.

Did you not have visual line of sight with the drone when it landed?  If it landed you should at least know the general position based on where you were flying from and the direction.

Yes I know a general area, problem is the area is wooded, and some areas are swampy. My camera cut out before it went down, I tried to push it just a bit closer, to get it out of a valley, but am not sure how far if any distance I was able to close, as shortly there after it was behind a large group of trees.

What do you mean, you are unable to find the files?
Are they absent, or are you just not sure where and how to find them?
It's really hard to help you when you just say that you can't find the data.

How about some details?
Maybe a screen shot?
Where have you looked?
Have you found the right folders?

Of course it won't pull up iTunes.
That's for Apple devices only and the Smart Controller is an Android device.

Most flyers could have found the files in 5 minutes with the instructions I've given you.
But in 8 hours, all you've given someone who has been trying to help you is . . there's no data.
It's hard to believe that you want to find answers for your questions.

But I can't tell if that's because it's not there or you are out of your depth with the task.

So, I have uploaded the flight log, even though the system told me the home point was updated, and I was clear for take off, there is no gps signal. Looks like the battery went from okay, to nothing in no time at all. Which would explain the good battery then the battery dropping power. Unfortunately with no gps I believe I am screwed, but what would cause this with the battery?
