While trying the PGYTech vario ND filters, I noticed the Pocket stated it detected the wide angle adapter.
This leads to some image processing that is done inside the Pocket 2 which is unwanted. (the P2 applies some distortion correction when it detects the wideangle lens).
Is there a way to turn this off?
The ND filter clearly is not a wideangle adapter.

Filter on the P2:

No filter attached. Notice the top of the roof that is not in the frame when the ND filter is on.

Definitely a bit of difference.  DJI might need to tweak the firmware.

I remember seeing the same notification appear when using PolarPro Standard series ND filters and polarizer. Not sure if it affected by which side up it is inserted on the lens of Pocket 2.

Funny is that sometimes it detects a 'ND filter' but I don't know why that is different.

Interesting.
Sometimes I saw a different notification. (ND filter installed).

Interesting.
Sometimes I saw a different notification. (ND filter installed).

So I just tried out my PolarPro standard pack. It detects ND8 and the CL PL as wide angle and 4,16,32 and 64 as ND filters.

I also have Freewell ND 1000 and the light pollution filter and both were detected as wide angle.

Wow, that is weird. My filters are going back to the shop, so when I get new ones (not variable), I will do more testing.

The magnets must have some kind of detection.

I wonder if the mini2 filters would fit it as they clip on rather than the magnets?

I won't check with this ones again. They are in their boxes and I want to keep these boxes as good as I can.
But I will be getting new (fixed) ones as soon as these are gone.

Yeah. But not super sure how, maybe the size of the magnets?

The magnets of my DJI popped out (even though I used it only twice) and I tried attaching the magnets only. Even without the lens, it was detected as wide angle.

Strange. I don't have ND filters anymore (will buy different ones soon) but I will test them when I receive them.

I have a PGYTech 6-9 variable ND filter. The P2 recognises it correctly when attached giving a message "ND Filter"
I get the colour shift but not the distortion

Strange.
Thanks for confirming the color shift was not a faulty filter.

Any filter with magnets will show up as wide angle.
I think this is a (another) bug in the Pocket 2 software.
Should have an option to turn it off.

Sometimes it shows as ND filter. I'm not sure why.
