The XA40 balances perfectly on the RSC-2 (even with the handle attached), however there is no compatibility with USB or other controls for the camera.  I posted video of camera on Gimbal here: https://forum.dji.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=238709

Hey Michael.  I just ordered the DJI RC2 for my Canon XA40 as well.  I understand the camera controls don’t work which is a bummer.  Do all of the modes on the gimbal function okay with the camera?
