Is it possible to installed an infrared camera on the dji mini 2 in  place of the original ?

it is a simple basic drone. No option to change the camera if existed.

If you want IR, you ought to look out for the Mavic 2 Enterprise.

Yes it works.  You have to hand launch and catch,  Im using CHDK as it has an interval timer.

Mini 4 pro I believe has a very bright downward searchlight feature
