1. This is nothing new, I have only been involved with these drones for about 18 months and have known about these sites since well over a year ago.

2. They are not exactly scams. What they do is to add some value to the registration. That may be just the service of doing the application for you and/or to add a class-type instruction course and/or sending you a nice looking "certificate" to hang on your wall ;-) I saw many of those sites in early 2020, studied what they offer, and passed on them because I knew I could do it myself directly with the FAA faster and cheaper.

Don't even get me started on scam phone calls.  

The shame of it is some of the scammers, hackers, etc are very talented.  Unfortunately, they are putting those talents to bad use vice good use.

Here we can see the phone number of who calling you and these scammers fake the numbers,  its very annoying.

Oh yeah, spoofing numbers is their favorite trick.

Not sure if you get this but we can receive text messages (sms) from names rather than number, so a shop name might appear where you expect to see a phone number. And they are impossible to block as phones only let you block numbers.

Fortunately I haven't seen any of those yet.  Probably just a matter of time before I do.  95% of my calls are spam.
