We once had a TV reality show about a family that lived there, called "Sylvania Waters". Judging by the show, they would not care :-)

Yes it certainly is. I am not use I would like to live that close to a neighbour at Sylvania Waters, although it does look nice from above with the water views.

Shark infested waters?  When I grew up, if you lived on the water you didn't need a pool because you had water in your back yard already!  Every house there is on the water with a pier, plus they all have pools!  go figure.

I had a friend in that street with a game fishing boat. Last time I went fishing there I caught eight "Shovel Nose" sharks. Damn fine eating so I guess they would have considered me to be. So yes to your question.

p.s. Most of us with pools are also heated. So we can swim in our freezing cold winters. 15C brrrrr.
