yep, from recent rains. Usually it is a slow stream, many of my hours have been spent sitting in meditation beside the low water bridge

Great shots,   fitting that just yesterday I was looking in a pond and two snakes swarm past,   never seen that before here.

I nearly stood on a snake in the same field and I know some idiots go there t catch them but that was my first swimmers,   I think the only luck was getting home without being bitten.

Theres probably some truth to that.  I once twisted my ankle badly avoiding standing on a snake,  and to boot I was miles from anywhere and you can only hop so far.

So how did you get back?  Tough situation to be in - STURDY boots and suitable stick is needed.

Some few years ago I had my ankle crushed between my motorcycle and a car. Metal plate and a dozen screws I got and still have trouble walking on tricky terrain.

Well,    I hopped along for a bit,  but in the end I couldn't hop any more so I started to crawl.   I got to an area where there are a few old boats that are beached on the shore.   An elderly lady appeared from one of them demanding to know what was going on,   I managed to get myself upright whilst hanging onto a tree branch.   Once she realised I wasn't drunk (well thats what I think anyway),  she rushed off and came back with a bicycle,   she helped me onto it and then pushed it down the trail and back to the road where someone could pick me up.

If I were a snake I would put my foot down -"No stepping on snakes"!

Along the west coast road one often entcounters snakes on the tarred road soaking up the heat. Unfortunately some people believe that snakes are evil so they drive over them- breaking the animal's spine which, appart from being somewhat painfull for the animal, also results in them slithering with a limp.

Snakes here are quite rare. but there are a couple of places nearby that are known for them,  in the summer they usually put up warning signs.  You can also search instagram and find idiots over there catching them as pets.
