Trying something new with the Mavic 2 Pro.

First flight in this configuration I waited for a still day so wind would not be an issue.    All went quite well,  I opted to hang underneath rather ontop but I think that may be more stable but causes some magnetic interefence to be reported.  One mistake I did make was covering the downward sensor so landing (hand catch) was a little fraught as at 40 ft in the air it thought it was landing and it took some patience to get it down low enough to grab.

Hopefully you'll see the results of this in the coming days.

And a close up of the rig in flight.   I think I will add some foam tape to the 3d printed bracket.

The camera does a type of image the M2P cannot take (not at least without taking the M2P camera apart are removing bits.),  Im controlling it by running hacked firmware called CHDK which allows me to run scripts on the camera,  in the current setup it will take a picture every 15 seconds after you turn it on.

Yes,  it enables manual type modes that aren't in those cameras,  along with many other features like a histogram and other video modes and you can run your own scripts,  or there's loads to download from their forum.

Canon did something weird, they bumped the weight of the 3 by about 900g extra and then dropped it back on the 4 series.  

That is interesting.
Now just pop a 360 camera on there!

After this holiday, I don't trust my M2 as a heavy lifter anymore.
It really struggled from time to time and there is an internal debate going on weather I should try to find a used M2P for a good price, mainly for taking with me to Sweden.

Ghegheghe.
First have to find the budget and possibly another reason to buy one   
As my credits evaporated after the last purchase, there is nothing to enlighten the burden yet.
Plus I have some P2 purchases I want to make.

And on the 2nd hand marketplace they are still over priced.
I have a feeling they will become cheaper somewhere next year (when the end of the transitional period comes closer)
