Depending on the controller some of them have 18650 cells which dont really need to auto discharge, in fact they are developed to hold a charge over time better than other batteries.

LiPo and LiHV both these chemistries require to be kept at a storage charge. approx 3.8V per cell The 18650 Cells are LiOn (Same as a Tesla Car) and can be kept at full charge for some time.

I was looking at Tesla and it beats everything considering people aren't going off the electric charging routes. People still by the gas vehicles.
