I use mine for gutter inspections from time to time,  if you get the landing prompt just push the left stick forward gently and you'll cancel the landing.

I have used my drone to inspect my gutters from time to time.

Although you might have been 10 meters above your launch point, your downward visual positioning sensors were looking down at the roof that was immediately below you.  Because you had the left stick down for an extended period of time and the VPS system detected an object very close beneath it, it thought you wanted to land just like if it was the ground (or your hand) right below it.

I figured...  but the prompt surprised me ( distracted by a neighbor (my fault) and piloting drift (my fault))

Yep, its always good to learn and share!  Glad it didn't end in a broken drone!

My plan was to ascend to adjust the camera, then land.   My Home Point (take off) was about 1.5 meters from the house.  On descent, I drifted closer to the house and "bounced" off the roof.  Pilot error.
