Crashed My Drone in the Lake - Doing ONE Thing Would Have Prevented It!

Bummer.  Unfortunately, this is why you never say never because it can happen to anybody.  When I fly over water, which is quite often, I always disable downward vision sensor.  However, even though I always do that as a norm I better update my flight checklist to include this.

Not sure why he didn't climb when he first starting losing signal to try to regain signal or maybe it was too late at that point.  Wave could have swallowed the Air 2S and it was all over too quick.

I have a simple rule,   I dont fly low over water.

That's probably a really good rule.  I live on a large boat on the water so I have no choice but to fly over some water.  Definitely had to learn hand take off and landing quickly.

I learnt on the m2p and then on the mini.  It would have been nicer to learn the mini first as the pro always feels like it want to chop off a hand to me.

I can imagine that feeling, especially with bigger motors and longer, faster turning props on the M2P.

The mini is certainy easier to flip to kill the motors.

I think the easier, and probably safer, way to kill the motor in a hand catch, is by pulling the left lever down and catching it with the right hand.

On the M2P I would agree but there's no resistance with the mini.   What with that and the nudge launch its like it was designed for it.
