What to do before you sell, give away, or trade up your DJI drone

Before you sell, give away, or trade up your drone, you should first remove your personal information from your old device.

If your drone is used with the DJI Fly app:
1.Power on your drone and remote controller.

2.Connect your drone to a mobile device using the RC cable, and then launch the DJI Fly app. After your device is connected to the app successfully, the app will prompt “GO FLY” at the lower right corner on the interface.  


3.Tap “GO FLY” to enter the flight interface, tap the “…” icon at the upper right corner, and then select “Control” -> “Advanced Gimbal Settings” -> “Reset”.


4.Tap “Camera” -> “Reset Camera Settings”.


5.Tap “Format” to delete all data stored in the internal storage and microSD card of your drone.


6.Tap “About” -> “Name” to delete the name of your device.



If your drone is used with the DJI GO or DJI GO 4 app:

1.Power on your drone and remote controller.

2.Connect your drone to a mobile device using the RC cable, and launch the DJI GO 4 app. After your device is connected to the app successfully, the app will prompt “CONNECTED” at the lower left corner on the interface.


3.Tap “GO FLY” to start a flight, tap the “…” icon at the upper right corner in the flight interface, and then select “Gimbal” -> “Advanced Settings” -> “Reset Settings” -> “OK”.


4.Tap “General” –> “Device Name” to modify your original device name into the drone model (e.g. MAVIC 2).   


5.Tap “Camera Settings” in the flight interface to enter the Settings page.


6.Tap “Format SD Card” and “Format Internal Storage” to delete all data stored in the internal storage and microSD card of your drone.  


7.Tap “Reset Camera Settings” -> “OK”.
