These should ensure I'm less likely to encounter a problem.

Now that’s odd.

Indeed it looks odd but even the 4 antenna sticking out looked odd too.  As long as it decreases the chances of things going wrong then it's good. : )

I believe those are specially for the V1 Goggles as they are only 5.8Ghz. The V2 goggles are 2.4 & 5.8Ghz so the kit you've shown would work with Air Units, Vista etc but not with the DJI FPV Drone as the DJI drone switches between the two frequencies. There are other antenna's by the same brand which are dual frequency. (Duality)

These are only 5.8. Dual frequency is needed - 5.8 and 2.4ghz. Fine with traditional FPV - Vista and Air Unit but not the FPV Drone.

Really good antennas too as got them on mine. Not let me down yet at 3km out and back.

I will use them but I don't really test things too much anymore or at least things like this.  I just know better antenna can be just enough to save you from losing it when you need that solid signal enough the most.  In life, I think I've avoided so many negative life changing stuff that's why I'm still here (uninjured/dead) like I've done nothing at times and it should be that way..  Complacency and other things make it look like certain things don't matter but when I do something a lot more than one time, I try to see how it's like w/ and without and then I find out why something is better to have than not have.

On V2 they are better than stock?

What if you use 2.4 w/ these???
when you "use 2.4Ghz with these", you don't mean the radio right?

if a 2.4.Ghz signal is send in those antennas, it won't do anything. Like other have mention it won't work great with the DJI drone. Will work great for vista/air unit.

Could it overheat and break the controller? like running a TX w/ no antenna?

The goggles switch - depending on the reception conditions - between 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz "back and forth" ...
If the antennas cannot transmit or receive the 2.4 GHz signal strong enough (from the DJI FPV drone), then you risk that the connection will be worse than with the original antennas!
This is exactly the opposite of what you wanted to achieve !!!

2.4GHz is no good.  5.8GHz on manual is best.. Auto sets it to 2.4GHz at times!!

I'll go out later to test it in full.  I do know a better antenna setup matters.  There is at least hope if the interference is strong but if its way too strong and you want to fly there or beyond there, you have to reposition the take-off position and take-off from there or beyond there.  No Yagis results in a chance of a signal loss of like 60%.  Yagis make it like 10-15% lol.  I assume these can do a better job than the stock antennas.

I had so much drone commercial work the last 2 years that I was put in nearly all kinds of environments.  Basically, you gotta do what you gotta do type s*.

edit: Just flew the beach area.  Wow, the feed was clean and immaculate all around me.  My bars were nearly identical to the controller bars.

This might work even better.

It's dual band. I have this and will be trying it out this weekend

Ok guys I have to ask a few things.

While I know most of us have taken our devices out past LOS, and I feel that if we are doing so over open land it should not present a problem.  The most I have allowed myself to travel was 2.5 miles with stock configuration.

Why, just why do you need to be able to go 9 miles out?
And even if you can hit that distance, how would you get back?

Clearly I am missing something.

Penetration.  Even at 200m you can have interference issues.  The idea is to lessen those problems.

Will not be good to say the least. Leave 2 of the stock antenna on if you use the 5.8 patch. Failing that, just get the duality and use 2 of them.
