Hi there. We're sorry for the trouble. Can you please confirm once you connect the cable to the mobile device, does it show a notice about charging the mobile device? Also, kindly please try to turn on the USB debugging under your mobile device Developer settings and check if the issue persists. Please keep us posted. Thank you!

Make sure USB debugging is enabled on your HUAWEI P20.  Have you tried a different cable to see if that works?

Check out this article on how to enable USB debugging.

Maybe you can borrow a friend's cable to see if the cable is the issue.

Make sure to allow permissions on app. Go to settings and then apps and then dji fly app and allow permissions on locations and storage...

Make sure you are plugging the correct end into the controller. It is not supposed to matter but I have read accounts of it making a difference with some cables.

If the cable works with an iPhone then the cable is not an issue!

Probably not. Most iPads/iPhones use a different cable (Lightning) than the Huawei Android phone he has. Unless he has the iPad Pro and then he uses a USB-C cable and it would be the same

With an Samsung Galaxy S8 it does matter. The app does not connect with a reversed cable.

RIDICULOUS!   Most Apple devices use a different cable (Lightning) than the Android Huawei device he is using.  So yes another cable could be tried in order to eliminate the cable as the issue.

I agree! My error. Not so used to the iPhone technology! I really thought they used a common standard in these days
