Just to be clear,  Im not staying there. People over on instagram are commenting about enjoying my stay.  Personally I dont do tenting...

Might be a bit but life on a 62' boat has all the comforts found in a land based home, or at least my boat does.  Besides, if I get tired of the local scenery I can just undock and change locations easily.  Can't do that with a land based home.

62ft sounds pretty good.  What sort of boat is it?

Viking Sport Cruiser.  Not a mega yacht like the golfer Tiger Woods owned but my mini-yacht has 3 smaller staterooms and a large owner's suite.  Fairly good size galley.  Utility room with washer/dryer.  Cruise speed is around 25-26 with a max speed of around 32 but at that speed it drinks diesel like its going out of style.  My retirement dream was to get a boat and cruise the Caribbean.

I googled it.  Very nice.  Wouldn’t look out of place in Ballers.   You probably see Dwayne Johnson floating about.

Just was a dream finally coming true.  

I don't have any sails but I have motored from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas in just under a half day.  I've found the best time to go from Florida into the Caribbean is between late November and mid April as there are no hurricanes, waters are fairly calm and the weather is still a bit warm.

Oh wow.  I assumed it would take longer.  If it’s only half a day you could easily island hop you’re way round each island in roughly the same amount of time.    I bet fuel would be a killer though.   On the flip side you’d get some great drone shots.

That looks like a small campsite.

That was taken at low tide in the Thames,   because they dredge a shipping lane some ships can come up the river at any time.

Earlier in the day Id walked down he sea wall for another shot  and it passed on the way back,  but the spot we had got to had a lot of NO DRONE signs,  even though its not a NFZ.     So as it was busy I gave it a miss.    They come close to the shore so it would be a good spot for it.

They can for take off and landing but not overflight.   Here the land owner has a right of use for the land but they dont have any control of the air space,  so for example you cant fly over stone hedge if you go onto the land but if you take off outside from the pavement you can then overfly it.

So many wonderful islands to see.  Fuel cost is for sure a consideration.  However, it is cheaper than flying and paying for hotels and eats.

Have a 5 country "mini-cruise" planned for May 2022.   Only reason I'm planning for the early summer is grandson really wants to come along and I don't want him missing any school.  Hopefully the pandemic will be a thing of the past by then.
