Hi folks

Can someone please confirm if I actually have FCC capability from the 2 images, please?
1 is CE mode and the other is allegedly FCC mode, the latter supposed to be activated
as shown in the image thats showing -93.2db in the 2.4ghz band?

Wonder why CE is in the 5ghz band though?

The drone will switch between CE and FCC based on GPS location information.

To tell which mode your in -

in FCC mode the horizontal 1km line is below 90dBm/MHz (~87).
In CE mode the 1 km line would be above 90dBm/MHz (~92).

Hi, thanks, Still confused lol, So from your example, neither image are showing FCC mode, even though image 2 is supposed to be with the FCC hack enabled :/

This time im using the app as opposed to the permanent featureI have  taken 3 shots, one in dual band, one it 2.4ghz and on in 5ghz, the only one close to yours is the 5ghz image

AH, i have just turned on the setup as normal (CE mode) and there is a difference
I was looking for something more substantial like your example but mine is more subtle

Looking at the normal CE mode in the image below, the 1km line is bang on -90, where as
in the above images (FCC) the 1km is a fair bit above the line, not quite like your example mind
where your actual line dissects the -87, my line stays put..

Signal strength is always going to vary.   Now I have to ask how are you swapping between FCC and CE,  I tried a couple of different ways but on iPhone they were terrible.

I tried before but it fails on MacOS,  I need to dig out an old windows machine.

Yeah,  tell me about it.   Essex here and we were supposed to be heaving a nice week,   so far wind and rain has ruled.  Left the house on Monday to go to a windmill (old style) with the sun shining and half way there the skies went black and the rain rolled in,   at that point it wasn't even forecast.

Sounds about right lol

In FCC the 1Km mark is above the line, in CE it's at the line, that's the way to know it (apart from the huge difference in performance )

Fly in dual band mode, as the drone will autoshich between the best channels/frequency as needed.

I'm still getting image issues it does cure itself if you spin around etc

A "friend" did a test using permanent FCC, = 4.04km @ 67% battery and was heading into 6-10mph winds on the return journey, home @ 16%. A wee caveat, it was in C mode untill 1.15km lol so poss another 500m could have been added :/
Same ''friend'' did a test in CE = 3.3km @ 70% battery, signal in the red and a warning, as soon as it turned around it
went back to 4 bars, still headed home though, winds from the right at 6-10mph, home at 44%, should have gone in reverse lol

So FCC deffo works, no live view issues except for the odd screen flash black for a millisecond a few times, it didnt impeded the vision though

It didnt do that in CE, so my ''friend'' says...

Worth it for the stronger signal for sure....

The way I read those graphs, it has nothing to do with the FCC/CE choice, it appears to be a graph showing the signal strength of other signals in the band, hence it helps you to avoid channels that already have strong signals present. The legend of ~1km and ~4km is odd, as in terms of signal strength, which is what the graph displays, it means nothing.

I fly my drone in Germany and in the US and the ~1km/~4km line does NOT seem to be a legend. It shows exactly the behavior as described above and changes in each of the two countries, whether other signals are present or not.

There is a change in the graph when I swap to FCC mode, you can clearly see that the 1k has moved.
And there is certainly a difference in power cause the battery shouted to return home at 4km.
In CE the signal died well before 4km

legend means notation on a graph, that is what I was referring to. And the distance has nothing to do with a signal strength graph.

My friend  has just achieved a fraction over 5km and landed with about 22%, relatively light winds, a max gust of about 5mph

im super confused what mode im in here.

Any ideas?
