As the title says, what are the furthest folks have managed in FCC (obs)?
The bumf says up to 10km one way, I wonder where they ran their test for this?

Furthest I have taken mine is 3082m over countryside, was a bit windy but returned without a glitch

The maximum I was able to do in the mountains near my home is 9.4km round trip without any connection problem.I could have gone further if I would not have had a ban on overflight of a village on my way. I fly with version 1.4.2

10km doesn't matter if you get heavy interference that doesn't even allow you to do more than 200m.

HI ,To answer your question if I understood by making the outward journey and the return at the time of the RTH I have 22% of battery left and I did the RTH when the dji fly asked me
At your place you had FAA or EASA we have the DGAC and I don't fear them (as long as they don't catch me !!)

Can you remember what the battery was when you started on the return journey?

I know it can be pushed some, I just dare not go over that RTH battery warning, certainly not by many meters
This is really me just being a scaredy-cat, cause I nearly always end up back at the home point with over 40%.
It was 34% i think the last time as i was fighting a decent headwind.

I always head out with the wind in my favour for the return trip so I also know that the RTH warning is premature due to fighting the wind on the outward journey and thus would be using less battery on the return trip and even
though my flight path is only over fields, lots and lots of flat fields so retrieval and the odd tree so and emergency
landing wouldnt be an issue to other humans or property, im more worried about a bird strike now mind lol but still
i dont have the bottle to go much past the RTH warning just yet, i may do next time though, but its also knowing
how much further to go past, i think many go with the 50% rule or thereabouts.

Yes there was 22% left when the drone landed at its starting point, and the drone took off with 98% and I had a little tailwind in my favor for the return, it is very unusual for me to descend below 25% battery in general but it is also unusual that I fly far

Thanks, yeah, its not often i do, once I find its limit, that's enough for me, same with the phantom, I found its mark at 4k and left it at that, not tried it since

I think I could have gone a little further because before dji fly triggered the RTH I hovered for about 1 minute to look at the landscape and I could not go beyond because of the ban flight from the village and then that was already too much!
as you say so well (I found my limit) I don't think of doing it again one day either

If you want to fly 20km, then do it but my personal limit is no more than 1000m (800m max but set to unlimited) though my very first drone job had me fly out at near 1200m.  Luckily the M2Z range is incredible.  It has more range than All my other DJI drones for some reason.

I never fly anything other than the Mini 2 and FPV unless I have jobs but now I don't even fly anything.   In the air everything can feel the same.  I have no purpose in scouting for terrain as I thought but just one time it could matter and all pay for itself and beyond though.. I have doubt (after taking Everything into consideration) that keeping ourselves/others alive is a best idea.  The afterlife could be better and imo I think people dying to COVID could be a natural eternal blessing but avoided due to vaccinating.  The world is incredibly broken and it's only a matter of time before things get super exposed.  Until then, everything appears as good, for now.  Grinds and challenges are the daily norm for everyone alive on Earth.  Teachings and beliefs that could be superceded and made shattered with super validity and evidence backing no one could ignore leaving people lost and confused at an instant, but oh well.  I got into droning to "know more" from what we can't see while on the ground but this and other things made me realize A lot more.  It's just easier if people took their "rest in peace" beliefs into their own reality otherwise people should just stop saying it everytime somebody dies of anything other than super old age.

What the dlckens are you on, I want some.....

Minuscule of a fraction over 10km round trip, very light winds, back at about 22/23%. Averaged about 1250m per 10% so probably 12km (12.5km at a risk) would have been attainable, now that's pretty good
