If the gimbal is powerless during use, perform the following:
If the mobile phone is used with Osmo Mobile 3, please make sure that the mobile phone and gimbal are balanced. Please watch the tutorial video: How to Balance the Gimbal for more information:
If the mobile phone is used with DJI OM 4, please make sure that magnetic phone holder or magnetic ring holder is attached at the center of the mobile phone.
1) Using Magnetic Phone Holder:
a. Make sure that the magnetic phone clamp is in the middle of the phone.
b. Adjust the phone clamp and make sure it is as vertical like the phone.
c. If using a mobile phone like iPhone 7/8 less than 7.5 mm thick or weight less than 170 g, use the provided riser pad.
d. For mobile phones with rounded corners or if the phone is loose after being attached to the phone clamp, use the provided riser pad.
e. Align the white dot on the phone clamp with the white dot on the gimbal, and make sure that the phone clamp is firmly stuck in the notch of the gimbal. 2) Using the Magnetic Ring Holder:
a. Only attach the magnetic ring holder to phones that are supported by DJI OM 4. Please refer to the DJI OM 4 Mobile Phone Compatibility List for more information.
b. Do not attach the magnetic ring holder to a mobile phone case. Please attach the magnetic ring holder directly to the center of the back of the mobile phone.
c. Place the alignment guide on the back of the mobile phone, and adjust the position of the alignment guide to locate the center of the mobile phone to make sure that the magnetic ring holder is attached to the center of the back of the mobile phone.
d. Align the white dot on the magnetic ring holder with the white dot on the gimbal, and make sure that the ring holder is firmly stuck in the notch of the gimbal. 3) Please make sure that the weight of the mobile phone is within Compatible Phone Weight mentioned under Specs page in the official DJI website.
If your mobile phone is connected to an external device, like mounting a counterweight to the phone holder axis arm or attaching a heavier phone case, please make sure that the weight of the mobile phone is within Compatible Phone Weight.
Compatible Phone Weight of Osmo Mobile 3: 200 ± 30 g
Compatible Phone Weight of DJI OM 4: 230 ± 60 g
4) Please make sure that gimbal’s battery level is sufficient.
a. When the gimbal is powered off, press the M button to check the battery level.
b. Before use, make sure that at least battery level indicators light up
5) Please make sure that the gimbal is activated.

b. DJI OM 4
Attach the mobile phone to DJI OM 4 and enable Bluetooth on the mobile phone.
Launch DJI Mimo and login or register a DJI account.
Active DJI OM 4 following the on-screen instructions.

6) Make sure that the firmware is the latest version. If not, update the firmware.
a. Osmo Mobile 3

b. DJI OM 4
Please make sure that at least two battery level indicators light up. After DJI OM 4 is connected to DJI Mimo, update the firmware following the on-screen instructions if a new firmware available prompt is displayed in the app.
After firmware update, the system status indicator will be sold green. Then please restart DJI OM 4 and DJI Mimo.
If firmware update fails, restart DJI OM 4 and DJI Mimo, reconnect Bluetooth and retry.
7) Please try to exit the Standby mode.
a. Osmo Mobile 3
When the Osmo Mobile 3 is powered on, press the M button three time to enter or exit the Standby mode.
b. DJI OM 4
When DJI OM 4 is powered on, press and hold the M button until you hear a beep to enter or exit the Standby mode.
8) Please do not manually move the gimbal or make the gimbal move to the limited position. Otherwise the gimbal may become powerless.
In this case, please try to restart the gimbal, connect the mobile phone and gimbal again, and retry.
