I've searched the forum for this issue, and looks like it was happening with Ronin S as well.

Basically, I can move the focus wheen and set the focus fine in view mode, when recording is not initiated. Once I press record button (in Variable Frame Rate 8 bit mode), the focus wheen doesn't do anything. That makes it impossible to use the gimble to record slow motion where the distance between camera and subject is changing.

I've updated the RS2 firmware, GH5 firmware is latest as well.

Any ideas or suggestions please?

Hi there, please check the following solutions to see if they help to solve your case:
1. Please check if the front dial of the RS 2 is set to Focus, if so, please try to use the front dial to see if the focus works in your scenario. Besides, you can try to set the front dial to other options other than Focus;
2. Please go to Create > Camera Settings in the Ronin app, and rise the focus speed.
