Word for word reply from Airdata. So, I took off but hovered at that location until I got the "Homepoint has been ............message so the homepoint was established correctly but Airdata guessed it to be 1,000 ft away until it got the the notification at 28 secs.

If you launch the aircraft before a GPS lock is obtained, a rough estimate will be reported as the takeoff location.
It's correct that approximate location data for the drone can be shown until GPS level reaches 4 or 5.
But no distance is shown by the app until a homepoint is recorded.

That is what would normally be shown in Airdata.
But this time it scrambled things and continued to show the distance relative to the false homepoint location, even though the homepoint had been recorded accurately.

Compare this with the same data as displayed by Phantomhelp.
It shows an approx location (before GPS Level reached 4), but no distance until the homepoint is recorded.
