Will the OM5 support the iPhone 13 Pro Max and the new cinematic mode?

Hello there DAFlys. Good day and thank you for the inquiry. As of the moment the DJI OM 5 and the DJI Mimo application does not support the iPhone 13 Pro Max. I'm doubting to buy the DJI OM5 as in the specification of the OM5 you can find:
Compatible Phone Weight
230 ± 60 g (i Suppose that the 60g is for the clamp)

The iPhone 13 Pro Max weighs 238 gram.

So this means that the iPhone 13 Pro Max is too heavy for the DJI OM5.

I would guess that iPhone 13/iPhone 13 Pro should be supported no problem even if they are not officiali listed in the compatibility list yet?

Yes, I suppose that the iPhone 13 or 13 Pro (no max) are supported because they are in the range of the maximum weight.

For the Max that's a different story

Clamp is about 34 gr so 230 ± 60 should be the tolerance.

IPhone 13 Pro Max is about 240gr that added to clamp should be in total (240+34)=274gr, perfect for the declared range....if the range is true

So I sell my iPhone 13 pro max?

I’ve just tested a 238g phone. It’s working. (iPhone 12 pro with weights).

How long did you test it for,    I found with the 12 Pro max that after about 15 minutes the motors would give up.

Mine too. One thing is for sure - the OM5 is going back to DJI if it won't work properly.

One more thing... the OM 5 manual says that it supports phones up to 290g (including all accessories like mics and stuff). The German manual says 290g too. The English manual says 230g +-60g.

This does not appear to be a “ firmware” issue. It appears that in a colossal fair DJI did not actually upgrade motors in OM5 to handle you know the most popular large format phones and or the micro battery they put in the OM5 to give us a selfie stick can’t provide enough current to the motors.

Related question: will the iPhone pro (not max) fit properly in the OM5 arms or cradle or whatever the right word is? And is there a case I can choose for it that will still let if fit securely, rather than sort of fitting in an insecure looking mannter like I've seen in videos of previous OMs and smart phones in case?

Getting my phone tomorrow, and would help to know if there's a case I can get that I won't need to remove to use the OM5 with.

It’s NOT the app it’s the motors. Can’t support the weight of even a naked iPhone 13 pro max
