Hey guys I already own a Phantom 3 Advanced but I was looking for a cheaper quad to teach people how to fly on. I know that later on I will proboly get a zenmuse h4-3d gimbal and i know it is easy to mount the zenmuse on the Phantom 2, but it sounds like a cool project to mount it on a phantom 1.1.1. The Phantom v1.1.1 is $380 on amazon, while the Phantom 2 v3.0 is $500. What do you guys recomend? If you are wondering why this post is in the phantom 3 forum, it is because it is the only active phantom forum on the dji forums.

I like the P1 for teaching - the batteries are cheaper, etc. and the thing is bulletproof...

BUT, I would not put a gimbal on it. I fly it bare (to teach) or with a Mobius or GoPro for still pictures.

If you intend to use a gimbal you should get the P2.

If you wait around you can probably find the P1 for a little less. I got my last one for $315 from meh.com.

I agree with you. It just that I want a quad i can teach my friends on but also mod and customize for cheap once they get better at flying.

check B&H used dept.  I have bought 3 of these and they have all been perfect like new.
Recently had P1.1.1 at 300 and a P2 for 350

I bought my p2v1 for just the same reason , to help save my plus for good stuff.
Also spare parts if needed.....
