The grandeur and beauty of Greece is found in every corner of this place, as well as in the "kavokolones" of Sounio.

From 49 seconds to 1:37 highly interesting and could stand alone. You can almost never edit too much.

Hi Marty,
I have been thinking of your comments and I agree with you that from 49 sec to 1:37 Is absolute the best part of the video and would show everything needed. It has a massive impact.

Just a question, Are you involved in making videos professionally. I appreciate your comments and can see what you mean. However many of us here are novices and enjoy most of what is put up here, so we are not so critical to many things which may look not so good to an expert. But we can always learn more in time and getting better.

Cheers
Tony

Tony,
Thanks for asking.

My MA (Masters in Arts) was in Audio/Visual Media and earned in 1975. During the program we used huge portable Sony video cameras with the 40 lb recorders carried on our back. We were taught the principles of film. Film production at the time was a mature 70 or so years old. The principles (short clips, tight framing/composition, and most importantly editing) were mature back then and are still valid today.

Personally, photography is my main endeavor. Before publishing a photo, I step out of myself, make believe I'm a stranger and ask, "Does this image emotionally connect?" Next step is share the image with the resident art critic, my beloved of 40 years. When she says, "It's derivative," it is usually discarded. Sometimes at her suggestion the image is recropped or toned down or enhanced.

Although my work is mostly photography, the basic principles are the same as videography. See:

Tony,
Thanks for asking.

Hi Marty,
Thank you for your reply and information. Went in to your very nice and interesting web site. You certainly have been abound the world and taken some amazing pictures. Love the picture with the cat in the guitar box I think it was and the water coming out of the hole in the wall amongst many others. Found the picture of yourself with the tripod on the back pack. I can see that you know what you are doing and with so many years of experience. Well done and thanks for the tip of stepping out of your self to judge.
Cheers
Tony

Tony,
When referring to photo of water coming out of wall did you mean the attached? The wall is the Croton (NY) Dam. The abstract photo is titled, "The Execution."

The pic of me with  backback was in much younger days carrying a 55lb load of 8x10 view camera, Majestic tripod, film holders and accessories. Now the kit weighs a mere 10 pounds with Mavic2 Pro, Olympus OM-D E-M1, 2 lenses and accessories.

Sorry Tasos, we are not meant to hijack your thread.  Yes Marty, that's the picture I found and thanks for explaining where it was. It's unique. The gear has certainly decreased in weight by the years and become so much better. Perhaps you can show us one day some of your best footages with the famous M2P. All the very best and take great care. Cheers. Tony
