I have a Marvic 2 Pro.  Can I download the video/photos being captured on the drone directly on to my controlling Iphone in real time so I can check the content with out having to resort to viewing them later vis the micro sd card in the drone?

Yes you can.
There is a setting that allows for downloading copies (smaller ones) to your device.
I don't have a Mavic 2 Pro, but if you post in the  the 'products' section of this forum someone will.
That is way more active.

Photos can set set to auto save using the sync HD setting but videos/pano's/etc have to be done manually.
