Very unusual. Looks like you got a wet Len’s and it created a mini rainbow.

For a moment I though so too.
But it was really a reflection in the fog as it was on the opposite side of the sun and moved relative to that.

It reminded me of something I see when we spray water and you get these fine droplets.
This creates a tiny rainbow that is visible only when  you are between the sun and the droplets.
So I guess it will be caused by the sun hitting the fog that has the right density.

Sounds plausible.   Just ordered a new ND filter.  Nd8 to nd2000 should be interesting for the DSLR.

Yes VND.  I already have two 77mm filters from them and if anything they increase the saturation a little which I quite like.

Yes.  The free version only has basic tools I most use it for healing on the go.

Ok, yeah, I'm mostly interested in the  'more extreme' ends of a ND filter (at least for photography) so that is where it should 'shine' for me.

I think it's what they call Heiligenschein. That halo effect you sometimes see against the ground when the sun is behind the drone?

I’ve gone VND for one reason,  composition and focus (ok that’s 2).   At nd1000 I can’t see enough to check focus or composition and I’m fed up with constantly unscrewing and rescrewing. My vnd4-400 is great but I really like the longest exposures possible.

I just did not like how it looked in the overall image.
Very distracting from the subject (that building you see lit up in the sun)

Maybe your "Glory" or Halo effect, could be described as a Tiny Planet effect of a rainbow
