Hey guys,

So I am brand new to aerial photography and videogrpahy in general. Today was my first time ever opening up Adobe Premiere.

Hopefully I'm off to a good start...still SO much to learn re: color grading, framing, flight movements, my crooked horizons, etc etc but this is amazingly fun!

Some great footage! Are the solid black flashes during the transitions intentional or is it my computer?

Nice video! Any reason why this was not done in 1080p/60?

Thank you! No filter, they're still on their way. Just playing around with different settings both on the bird and in Premiere.

I filmed it all in 1080p/60....I think I may have exported incorrectly! What are you seeing it in?

Nice video, but be prepared Youtube will eventually find that you are using copyrighted music and unless you licensed it they will either make you take it down and change. Not criticizing just a warning, I made that same mistake.

Sometimes they limit countries, sometimes you share ads.

I got issue twice and learned how to go around.

Btw, very nice video.

As you can see, there grass and high speed (3m/s+) don't do well.

Also, find an premiere tutorial for 3 wheel correction.

Are you using ND filters? I do now, great results but it is always a challenge.

Yeah this camera is amazing but I have definitely seen it struggle with grass and water.

And thanks, I have never even heard of wheel correction so I will be working on that this weekend!

Great job on this! Breathtaking and Well worth the effort.
By the way, I sent the link to my son out there. He is trying to find a place to live in San Elijo right now, believe it or not (sick of San Francisco costs, rules, and elitism in Northern California). And it is every bit as beautiful where you are in San Diego area for sure.

Canada. First time I Have seen this black band across the stopped video with that message. I will try on a PC. Maybe an iPad issue.

Just tried it on a PC and it worked fine.  I will have to dig into the ipad issue deeper.

Nice video by the way.

Yeah, I saw a video posted here that also had the black spaces between shots, but the transition was faster and faded, as opposed to flash cuts.  So, the idea is sound.  

It's amazing how sub-second timing can make good into great.

Oh I've never seen it before, I just came up with the idea when I was blinking slowly to the beat of a song just acting foolish, haha.

Would be really interested to see someone do it proper, let me know if you stumble across (a great one) again!

Youre right - if I fly in one direction I will easily head into a no fly zone.

Good thing there is no shortage of cool/interesting/unique places to shoot in SD. And practice my adobe skills!

Premiere Pro has a steep learning curve.  Considering you only spent 4 hours on this is great for your 1st  Premiere project.  It get simpler quickly.

YouTube video tutorials as well as the ones on Adobe's setup have saved my life!  I basically watch a video for 10 mins, do a 10 second edit, go back to youtube, etc......takes forever but I'm learning

Thanks a lot! Yes my second edit was much easier - trying to teach myself something new with every video both flying and in post.

Very nice video. I am really impressed. I am struggling through Premiere myself right now.  I am wondering if my computer is fast enough as I only have one clip loaded and I am seeing some lags when making adjustments. Not sure what is normal...

Are you editing 4k footage or something smaller? At what FPS? And what setup is your computer?

My computers are in dire need of an upgrade which is why I bought the advanced version but at 60fps it is a struggle fest exactly as you described.  I usually need to make a bunch of changes and then render them and walk away and go eat something delicious -- rendering it allows for it to play back smooth enough for me to assess what it'll actually be like in the final cut.  If I just try to do everything straight of the timeline then god help me.

4k 30fps

After a bunch of time on chat with adobe they recommended upgrading ram and video card.

Current config: Intel Xeon 3.3ghz, NVIDIA Quadra 2000 (1 GB video ram) and 8gb ddr3.  They recommended a minimum of 2gb on the video card, 4gb is preferred and 16gb ram. They were happy with the processor. He pointed out the while the recommended setup calls for a minimum of a 1gb video card what we are doing with 4k is not minimum use.

Also I was storing my raw video on a NAS not thinking of the network access time.

I would be interested in knowing what others are running but I think I see a new graphics card in my very near future.
