100% sure they have to.
But they want to be positive, to stay in the loop of giving items to them.

Yeah exactly.
Measuring and fitting.
After that back to the workshop for other stuff.
And after that I will have to paint.....

Luckily we've finished all the outdoor painting at the MIL's - its just the indoor stuff to do next.

Im hoping not much next year to do but that will depend on how the weather is over the winter.

I'm doing it part by part as we have a lot of wood and the paint is quite bad in some places (so it needs to be stripped down to the wood).
Next run will be much quicker with just a cleaning, sanding and painting stage.

Scraping or Sanding,   usually its better to scrape it off and cheaper.

Yeah it is.
Although it can be tough to scrape, so in that case I will revert to sanding.

Depending on the paint a hot air gun can be helpful. It a carbide scrapper.

I have one.
That can be hard on the wood.
Especially older wood.
