At 1:27 you can see the Overlay on that stop sign but it has to be calculated in Post because the video is 2D.  If there was another 3D data set with Lidar, then that imported into say After Effects w/ perfect timestamping, shouldn't it be possible and Easy to put overlays w/o needing to calculate for anchors?

Premiere and AE too but I meant within camera with Lidar.

Maybe if they used a closer shade of red too.

I'm not sure either.. the data points are stored in memory though so the camera can understand what to do but if that lasted longer and stored together with the 2D file it would make anchoring items a lot easier.  Would be best if the data was already burned in like with GPS coordinates for mapping as we know.

I have spoken to a friend who makes animations and he said he did use these files sometimes.

With the success of Klaus and Wolfwalkers and Demon Slayer, I'm shocked their discussion of giving 2d theatrical features another shot. Yet if anything they seem to be doubling down on CGI with so many CGI movies this year. Why is that? The whole" 2d animated features are more expensive" I feel is no longer true, While it may have true in the early 2000s, that's no longer true, as Lighting Texture, Camrea movement, and more detailed backgrounds have made a modern Disney or Pixar cost more than The Iron giant, Cats Don't dance, and beauty and the beast even with inflation. Even The Lion King with inflation cost the same as The Secret Life of Pets 2 witch is considered low budget compared to a Disney or Pixar film.
