So many people will bob upside down and could seriously get into a bit of trouble.  It takes a bit of training to learn buoyancy.

Yes, if you fart in a air-tight suit, that will even change your buoyancy!  I have friends that wear them.  Not my thing yet!

Of, for sure!  Very pricey! But not as bad as this Mavic 3 is gonna be.

I highly doubt their biggest drone release will be wrapped up in a 5 min video!  But we will see.  Still waiting to purchase the action 2.  The overheating bothers me and the fact that they still can't compete with scuba diving and the GoPro.  But if they want to send me a free one with the housing, I'll be more than happy to write an honest review!

Check out the reviews I posted in the products section,  Potato jet did a heat test comparison to the Hero 10 which may change how you feel.

They have.  And even in the housing it overheated.  That's a large chunk of change to get 100 ft below and can't record anything.  I did find one video that the overheating improved after the firmware update.

Unfortunately that is exactly what I am seeing... And these are not even "real" reviews yet. It is inexplicable how they blame shooting at "4K 60, 4K 120" etc. for the overheating and pretend that it is normal.

Anyways, I had assumed the main unit could be purchased and used by itself, but turns out it cannot be; and I personally find the fish eye lens unbearable, so I am passing this one...

I'm talking to support now.  It's not listed in the combo pack and I can't find on my additional list. It also has a macro lens too

I think DJI was just slow updating the store website as it now shows.

Thanks Downtown.  Wonder if the macro lens will fit in the dive housing?  I have a backscatter flip on my hero.  Find it hard to believe this will beat it?!?!

I'm betting we will see some GoPro vs Action 2 videos very soon.  I e-mailed DJI support to get more info on the waterproof case.

True, but it shouldn't overheat after only 5 minutes of use.  Could have been an isolated incident or two.  Also saw a video comment where one person's overheating was solved via the first firmware update.

I e-mailed support to try and ascertain when the housing would be available but have received no response from DJI.  If I had to guess I bet it will not be available until Jan 2022.

Exactly And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Even if they change the firmware to let the camera record longer despite the heat, these temperatures can not bee good for the non-removable LiPo battery crammed inside...

Read the same thing yesterday evening.  Chat with DJI Support said they haven't heard of any overheating issues.  Go figure.

The Action 2 has a different form factor being modular and all so will be interesting to see how well it functions in real use.  Definitely could be a lot of fun.
